Many students will encounter a very important thing in the process of learning and using, that is, when our robot needs to do input and output, it needs to configure the corresponding. The premise of configuring the corresponding signal is to configure the IO board.

This article demonstrates how to configure a DSQC652 signal board, which is a common robot signal board.

Note: Students should note that not all signal boards are DSQC652. You need to configure it according to your signal board. Since IO boards such as DSQC652 communicate via the DeviceNet protocol, if you are using a real robot, you need to support this protocol.

DSQC652 board

NO.11 . Check whether DeviceNet is supported

ABB's Devicenet options include 709-1 Devicenet Master/Slave and 840-4 Devicenet Anybus Devicenet protocols.

The robot signal board (such as DSQC652) uses this protocol to identify the robot, and this protocol requires the support of software options. The Devicenet protocol options are 709-1 Devicenet Master/Slase and 840-4 Devicenet Anybus Slase.

As we can tell from the names, option 709-1 can support both master and slave, while option 840-4 only supports slave protocol.

1. If it is a virtual system, you can select 709-1 Devicenet Master/Slave when creating a new system .

2. If it is a real robot, you can see the robot option information in the system information in the main menu.

NO.2 . Add configuration dsqc652

1. Open the main menu and click Control Panel.

2. Find the configuration in the control panel and click it

3. Find devicenet device and click on it

4. Select Add here

5. Select the 652 template here

6. Please note that you need to find DRESS by searching down and change its value. It is usually set to 10 , but this depends on your address jumper. Generally, 8 and 2 will be cut off as shown in the figure below. After 8 and 2 are subtracted, you need to add the subtracted values, which is the address number. If it is other, you need to pay attention to which one is cut off and add the cut ones.

7. Click Confirm after completing the input .

8. Select Restart Controller. After the restart is complete, the addition is successful.

NO.3 Summary:

The above is the configuration process of the Dsqc62 version. Configuring this board is a prerequisite for our later Io signal, because our Io signal must be configured through the communication board. Then we can directly connect to the external Io through this board, which is a very important configuration step.

Of course, this is just a separate Io version, and the io signal needs to be configured again.

Note: Be sure to pay attention to the support of options. If your option is not supported, you cannot configure it. There is no board configuration option when selecting the configuration.

Although the steps in this article are shown in screenshots using a virtual teaching pendant, the same steps are used in real equipment.
