In the past two years, with the changes in the international situation, many domestic brands have encountered varying degrees of "blockade" in overseas markets. From the chip shortage crisis in smart manufacturing to the fines imposed on 3C electronics companies, the overseas development journey of domestic brands is like a thrilling "tribulation". However, unlike the overseas market, the improvement of the domestic market economic environment has caused a number of brands to shrink their strategies, focus on the domestic market, and increase their investment in independent research and development to get rid of the embarrassing situation of being stuck in core technologies such as intelligent manufacturing. Especially for the manufacturing industry in the north, how to seize the opportunity of a new round of industrial transformation and explosion under the strategy of comprehensive transformation and upgrading has become a key issue that the old industrial base in the north needs to solve.

In this regard, Shenyang's targeted special measures to transform and upgrade "old brands", deeply develop "original brands", and cultivate and expand "new brands" can be regarded as a model for the transformation of the old industrial base in the north. While improving the upstream, midstream and downstream industrial supporting facilities, it will accelerate the development and growth of high-end equipment, new energy and new energy vehicles, integrated circuits, biomedicine, new generation information technology, new materials, energy conservation and environmental protection industries, and find key support for the current and next stage of economic development.

The robotics industry is one of the core highlights of Shenyang. As the birthplace of my country's robotics industry, Shenyang has not only won more than 20 honorary titles such as "my country's First Industrial Robot", but also hosted the China Shenyang International Robotics Conference, which is the only professional exhibition event with "robots" as the theme in Northeast China.

Since 2015, the "China Shenyang International Robotics Conference", hosted by the municipal government and co-organized by the Municipal Chamber of Commerce, has been successfully held for six sessions. A total of more than 200 domestic and foreign robotics experts and corporate executives, including three Nobel Prize winners, have been invited to attend related activities, effectively promoting domestic and foreign exchanges in the field of artificial intelligence, and facilitating the signing of a contract between Northeastern University, Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Shenyang Siasun Robot Automation Co., Ltd. to jointly establish the first School of Robotics Science and Engineering among domestic "985" universities. It also facilitated Siasun's strategic cooperation with Siemens, Omron, Guangzhou Fengshen Logistics Co., Ltd., etc., effectively promoting the development of Shenyang's intelligent manufacturing industry.

On August 25, the 7th China Shenyang International Robotics Conference will be held again. With the theme of "Transformation and Innovation of Intelligent Manufacturing", it is hosted by the Shenyang Municipal Government, co-organized by the Municipal Trade Promotion Council, the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, the Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau, the Municipal Commerce Bureau, the Municipal Science and Technology Association, the Shenyang Daily, the Ministry of Science and Technology Robot Industry Innovation Strategic Alliance, the China International Exhibition Center Group Corporation, Gaogong Robot and Gaogong Robot Industry Research Institute, and supported by Beijing Municipal Trade Promotion Council, Liaoning Provincial Trade Promotion Council, Dalian Municipal Trade Promotion Council, Northeastern University, Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Siasun Robot Automation Co., Ltd. To overcome the impact of the epidemic, it will be held in the current mainstream online way. By then, the conference will set up a number of activities such as the opening ceremony, theme forums, expert dialogues, Shenyang intelligent manufacturing cluster development propaganda, robot industry data release, normal digital exhibitions, corporate product promotion meetings, domestic and foreign procurement matchmaking meetings, etc.

So what are the highlights of this conference? On August 16, Fu Qinsheng, Vice President of Shenyang Council for the Promotion of International Trade, attended the press conference of the "7th China Shenyang International Robotics Conference" and revealed the three major highlights of this conference to the media on site:

1. Meetings

Academicians, foreign experts, domestic experts and senior executives of well-known companies will be invited to deliver keynote speeches on topics such as "The current situation and future development direction of intelligent manufacturing", "The progress and prospects of key technologies in intelligent manufacturing", "The transformation of smart factories", and "Intelligent manufacturing solutions leading the transformation of digital enterprises". Experts in the field of intelligent manufacturing will be invited to conduct dialogues and exchanges on topics such as "The core of intelligent manufacturing", "Prediction of key technological progress in intelligent manufacturing" and "Factors of production line intelligence considerations". Relevant departments of the municipal government will be invited to publicize the cluster development opportunities of intelligent manufacturing in Shenyang and release a list of Shenyang's intelligent equipment and new generation information technology needs. Gaogong Robot Industry Research Institute will be invited to release robot industry data and analyze the role of industry data in promoting Shenyang.

2. Exhibition

On the "Trade Promotion Cloud Exhibition Platform" built by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, five major sections are planned and designed, including exhibition display, live broadcast, recommendations of well-known companies, recommendations of high-tech products, and exhibition information and consultation.

In addition, seven exhibition areas have been planned and designed , namely the international brand exhibition area, service robot exhibition area, special robot exhibition area, industrial robot exhibition area, robot functional components and parts exhibition area, intelligent technology and application exhibition area and virtual reality technology and application exhibition area . It is planned to be displayed through WeChat applet, mobile APP and PC for 15 days and normally for 1 year.

At present, 153 smart manufacturing companies have been invited to participate in the exhibition, with more than 480 exhibits.

Three multi-to-multi-cloud promotion meetings were held focusing on six categories: service robots, industrial robots, special robots, intelligent technology and applications, virtual reality technology and applications, and functional components and parts.

Utilizing the big data functions of the "Trade Promotion Cloud Exhibition Platform" for trajectory analysis, intelligent recommendation, precise matching, and supply and demand matching, we focus on inviting buyers from Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Europe and the "Belt and Road" countries and regions to organize three "one-on-one" procurement matchmaking meetings in a B2B manner.

Media: This year's Robot Conference is all online activities, with no offline activities. What are the highlights of the online activities and what positive impacts have they brought to our city?

Fu Qinsheng, Vice President of Shenyang CCPIT: We held the previous two conferences in a combination of offline and online ways, and have accumulated some experience in online activities. This year, considering the safety of the conference and epidemic prevention and control, we will only hold online activities and no longer hold offline activities. We have focused on the following work:

First, focus on the central work and help the robot industry grow bigger and stronger. At present, our city is thoroughly implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and instructions on the revitalization and development of Northeast China and Liaoning, striving to build a national central city, and highlighting the construction of "Digital Shenyang, Smart Manufacturing City". In the "14th Five-Year Plan" of Shenyang City, it is clearly stated that the robot industry should be expanded and strengthened, and an innovative ecosystem for the robot industry should be built. Therefore, the fundamental purpose of holding a robot conference is to focus on the central work of our city, build a robot industry economic and trade platform, help build an industrial ecosystem for robots and intelligent manufacturing equipment, and comprehensively improve the core competitiveness of the industry.
