AEC Automotive Electronics Committee
The Automotive Electronics Council (AEC) is a non-profit organization composed of automotive electronics manufacturers and suppliers. Its members include Daimler, Ford, BMW, General Motors, Nissan, Renault and other world-renowned automotive electronics companies.
The main goal of AEC is to develop and promote standards for automotive electronic components. These standards cover many aspects, including the quality, reliability, and environmental tolerance of electronic components. By following the same standards, automakers and suppliers can improve the standardization and reliability of the entire automotive electronics industry.
The most important AEC standards are AEC-Q100 and AEC-Q101. They are the main standards for designing and producing semiconductor components for automobiles. AEC-Q100 specifies the robustness testing and reliability requirements of integrated circuits in harsh automotive working environments. AEC-Q101 further specifies the reliability requirements and corresponding test methods for discrete semiconductor components.
In addition to AEC-Q100 and AEC-Q101, AEC has also developed standards for other automotive electronic components, such as AEC-Q102 (optoelectronic semiconductors), AEC-Q103 (automotive sensors), AEC-Q104 (multi-chip modules) and AEC-Q200 (passive components). The development of these standards enables the automotive electronics industry to achieve higher quality and reliability, providing consumers with safer and more stable automotive electronic products.
AEC-Q102 test items
The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is an international standardization organization responsible for developing various international standards related to electrical, electronic and related technical fields. These standards cover many different areas, including power systems, electrical equipment, electronic devices, automation control, etc.
IEC 60810-2017 is the performance requirements for light sources and LED packages for road vehicle lamps. The tests for LED packages are as follows:
