I would like some advice on how to import .brd files into DXP [Copy link]

I have a Cadence 16.6 BRD file. After importing it using the AD13 version Import Wizard, it shows blank. I don’t know what’s going on. Can anyone help me convert it to a format that can be opened by DXP? Thank you!

It may be a software matching problem after importing, or an external size problem. After AD is imported, there is a large blank area. It can be displayed in 3D, and needs to be zoomed in

Is there any way to display it normally? I only need the component packaging and position placement, and I don’t need the wiring. Now I can only see the content shown in the picture when I open it

@qwqwqw2088, could you please help me with this? I am mainly going to use DXP to draw the board. If the component packages cannot be imported, I have to re-package them, which takes too much time: handshake

Because the AD software can't display it in 2D at all. It can only be displayed in 3D. It's best to modify the original image in Cadence.  Details Published on 2019-3-26 17:04

@qwqwqw2088, I also thought about modifying the original drawing. I worked on it for half a day this afternoon, but I don’t know how to copy the components of this file to a new file (I only consider having a package diagram). If I can move all the components of this drawing to a new file, there should be no problem with the external size. Can you help me do this? I have never used Cadence

I can't see it in 3D in AD, let alone modify it.
