IAR Embedded Trust from IAR enables powerful end-to-end embedded security solution
Leveraging IAR Embedded Trust, customers can easily address security concerns, develop devices with unique configurations, and protect against threats during all stages of the product lifecycle
Uppsala, Sweden – March 29, 2023 – IAR, the global leader in embedded development software and services, announces the launch of IAR Embedded Trust, a powerful end-to-end security workflow for the embedded industry. With this latest version of the solution, IAR delivers on its "Security Made Simple" promise to help customers quickly and easily manage, prioritize and mitigate potential security issues.
IAR Embedded Trust protects customers' data and devices through the "4As", including: "Anti cloning" introduces the concept of unique identification of software applications and device hardware to prevent counterfeiting and overproduction during the manufacturing process; "Active "IP protection" and its security key management mechanism ensure that applications only run on authorized devices and only after an authenticated secure boot process; "Anti-rollback" includes software security updates process and checks it to prevent rollback attacks and version vulnerabilities; Authentication cryptographically authenticates the device’s identity, protected data and confidential information, and only runs genuine firmware and updates, all while Based on an anchor of trust that is established in each device and cannot be breached.
This means customers can design for security from the beginning of product development to series manufacturing with unique device security configurations. IAR Embedded Trust is a microcontroller-independent security solution so customers can easily port their current designs to new microcontrollers. This helps reduce development time and reuse code to add powerful security features to your application without having to start from scratch.
Tim Woodruff, deputy general manager of IAR Embedded Security, said: "With this new solution, we have significantly enhanced our offering to help customers address security challenges and prepare for security legislation in these areas. IAR Embedded Trust has Advanced features enable further innovation while addressing security vulnerabilities in the global embedded product development process and embedded technology. It can help developers strengthen security design and establish protection mechanisms from the product design stage to prevent intellectual property theft. and unauthorized overproduction by third-party contract manufacturers. Our efforts are all about ensuring developers fully appreciate our Security Made Simple promise when using IAR Embedded Trust.”
