The remote lab uses an advanced new GUI and implements testing for voice, mobile and other complex applications.
This speeds up board configuration
Tokyo, Japan, September 7, 2021 - Renesas Electronics Corporation, a global supplier of semiconductor solutions, today announced the expansion of its popular "Cloud Lab" to simplify the configuration and testing process and accelerate time to market. Renesas has enhanced its remote lab with advanced GUI functions and new design parameters to create a more attractive and user-friendly user experience and provide designers with greater configuration flexibility.
Cloud Lab enables users to instantly remotely access, configure, test, monitor, and evaluate Renesas solutions in a sophisticated remote lab 24/7, including evaluation boards with popular products, Renesas "Winning Combination" concept proof boards, and other solutions from Renesas partners. Users can access the physical lab through a PC-based GUI, allowing them to instantly configure and test their designs without having to have physical boards on hand.
The new user-friendly GUI introduces new control parameters and additional monitoring results. The more user-friendly laboratory layout, advanced functions and intuitive user interface make it easier for developers to browse the design environment more quickly and easily, such as multi-angle real-time camera images that allow users to see the complete laboratory settings and results, and can zoom in and out of the real-time test and data acquisition reading views.
Advanced test setup and control for voice recognition, mobile applications, and power supplies, allowing users to complete complex tests such as transient performance with just a few clicks of the mouse.
Renesas has also added new options for products such as the "point-of-use clock chip" Femtoclock2. Femtoclock2 is an ultra-small size, ultra-low power, less than 100fs clock generation and jitter attenuation solution. By building cloud lab access for customers, testing high-performance products is more convenient than ever before, thereby accelerating the design process and ensuring that stringent performance requirements are met. In addition, Renesas has added a new "cloud lab" suite, including clocks, power supplies, voice recognition and control, medical, security and monitoring, industrial communications, and IEEE 1588/5G computing and communications.
“As application requirements continue to change rapidly, customers are looking for a powerful, flexible, and easy-to-use approach to configuring and testing their designs,” said DK Singh, Director of System and Solution Marketing Division at Renesas Electronics Corporation. “We are continually striving to make it easier and faster for our customers to design with Renesas products, and the enhanced Cloud Lab environment takes product selection and testing capabilities to a whole new level.”
Renesas has also introduced 14 of its popular evaluation boards to the Cloud Lab environment, now with 23 different boards targeting a wide range of devices in a variety of application areas. These new boards include:
• High-efficiency IoT battery system
• Industrial CAN sensor networks
• Voice recognition solutions
• Capacitive level indicator
• Multi-purpose air quality sensor solutions
• Ultra-low power RE01 speech recognition solution for IoT edge devices
• FemtoClock2 Evaluation Kit
• Surveillance cameras equipped with CMOS sensors
• IEEE 1588 solution
• Home smoke detectors
• Simplified non-contact thermometer
• 80V Dual Synchronous Buck Controller Evaluation Board
• Terminal backup power supply based on supercapacitor
