The "2021 China Integrated Circuit Design Innovation Conference and IC Application Expo" (ICDIA for short) was held at Suzhou Shishan International Conference Center. Focusing on the recent hot topic of automotive electronics chip shortage and localization, the "8th Automotive Electronics Innovation Forum and 2021 Automotive Chip Supply and Demand Matchmaking Conference" was held at the same time. As a domestic force in the field of automotive electronics, National Technology was invited to attend the conference and brought the N32S032 automotive-grade security chip, N32G43 series MCU, N32G45 series MCU and other automotive electronic chip products and automotive solutions recommended by the "Catalog" to participate in the docking roadshow and product display. At the same time, it also gave a speech on the topic of "Domestic Chips Help Automotive Intelligent Safety Upgrade" at the "Supply and Demand Matchmaking" closed-door meeting.

As we all know, the current automotive industry is facing a major transformation and upheaval, which is both a challenge and an opportunity for China, which is still immature in the semiconductor field. In the face of the reality of lack of experience accumulation, most semiconductor companies will start from aftermarket and slowly penetrate into pre-installation. This strategic approach allows them to integrate into the automotive electronics environment. National Technology is such a domestic force.

Those who are familiar with Nationwide Technologies know that Nationwide Technologies started with security chips, and then gradually extended its business lines to general MCU and RF products, with application scenarios covering industrial control, consumer electronics, medical electronics, automotive electronics, smart meters, smart homes, motor control, energy management, financial payment, trusted computing, IoT security and smart cards. Compared with other manufacturers of MCU and RF products, "security" is the core competitiveness of Nationwide Technologies products.

In the field of automotive electronics, National Technology's related product lines include: security chips, MCU chips, NFC reader chips, BLE Bluetooth chips and security cloud platforms, etc.

At present, these chips and solutions have been applied to electric vehicle charging piles, T-BOX (after-installation), car driving recorders (after-installation), on-board diagnostics (after-installation), in-car entertainment audio and navigation (after-installation), car atmosphere lights (after-installation), 360-degree panoramic views (after-installation), car radars and exhaust gas detection markets. The following is a detailed introduction to several MCU products:

 Automotive EDR application & Automotive T-BOX application

MCU model: N32G435CBL7
This is a processor using the ARM Cortex-M4F core, with a main frequency of 108MHz, supporting floating-point operations and DSP instructions, built-in 128kB encrypted Flash, operational amplifier, analog comparator and CAN bus controller, and integrated hardware cryptographic algorithm engine.

 Automotive OBD applications

MCU model: N32G455REL7
In addition to the built-in operational amplifier, analog comparator and CAN bus controller, this chip has an upgraded embedded encrypted Flash with a capacity of 512kB based on the characteristics of OBD applications.

 Automotive radar applications

MCU model: N32G435CBL7/N32G452CBL7
Both chips use the ARM Cortex-M4F core, with a main frequency of 108MHz, focusing on high security, built-in encrypted Flash, and integrated hardware cryptographic algorithm engine.

 In-vehicle central control application

MCU model: N32G435CBL7/ N32G452CBL7
For vehicle-mounted central control, this is a highly integrated, low-cost solution that can make full use of on-chip resources and HIS clock, and has 3 built-in PWM timers, which can reduce the BOM cost of the final system.

 Exhaust gas monitoring application

MCU model: N32G435CBL7
This is a highly integrated, low-cost solution that can fully utilize on-chip resources and HIS clock, support floating-point operations and DSP instructions, built-in encrypted Flash, and integrated hardware cryptographic algorithm engine.

 Car locator application

MCU model: N32G455REL7
This is a highly integrated, low-cost solution with a built-in CAN bus controller and 512kB embedded encrypted Flash. It can make full use of on-chip resources and HIS clock, and has 3 built-in PWM timers to reduce the BOM cost of the final system.

 Automotive BMS Application

MCU model: N32G452CCL7
This is a highly integrated, low-cost solution with a built-in CAN bus controller and 256kB embedded encrypted Flash. It can make full use of on-chip resources and HIS clock, and has 3 built-in PWM timers to reduce the BOM cost of the final system.

After talking about the implementation of National Technology's MCU in the automotive field, the last question to answer the chip shortage that the public is concerned about is that National Technology said, "At present, National Technology has become a long-term supplier of many international customers including Microsoft, Intel, Dell, and Samsung; in addition, in terms of manufacturing and packaging and testing, it has in-depth cooperation with TSMC, Huahong, UMC, SMIC, Tongfu Microelectronics, Huatian, Changdian Technology, and Siliconware Precision Industries. Although the delivery cycle of MCUs has been extended, it is still within controllable range."
