According to the latest news, Intel has reached an agreement with TSMC and has booked 180,000 6nm chips from TSMC next year.

The news also mentioned that AMD increased its orders for 7 and 7+nm chips to 200,000 pieces. Thanks to orders from Intel and AMD, TSMC's advanced process production capacity will remain fully loaded in the first half of 2021.

In fact, there have been reports that Intel will use TSMC's 6nmn process on a large scale in 2021, and will further use TSMC's 3nm process for foundry in 2022.

If Intel really intends to expand outsourcing, in addition to the chipsets that have already been partially outsourced, the first thing to be affected is the GPU, because GPU is simpler to manufacture than CPU, and TSMC has a lot of experience in GPU manufacturing.

Combined with previous news, Intel's Xe architecture discrete graphics card DG1 is manufactured using its own 10nm process and will be launched at the end of this year. It has 96 EU execution units, a total of 768 cores, a base frequency of 1GHz, an acceleration frequency of 1.5GHz, 1MB of L2 cache and 3GB of video memory, and a TDP of 25W.

It is expected that the performance of DG1 is comparable to that of GTX950, and about 15% lower than that of GTX 1050. The overall positioning is not high, and it is suitable for high-efficiency fields, especially notebook GPUs. After DG1, there will be DG2 independent graphics, which is a high-performance CPU. It was previously revealed that DG2 will use TSMC's 7nm process, and now it seems that it should be a 6nm process, an improved version of 7nm.
