Recently, US Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg said that he plans to make all new cars sold in the United States electric vehicles by 2035, reduce diesel emissions through electric trucks and electric buses, increase the popularity of public transportation, and build high-speed railways.

In addition, Bloomberg suggested that he also hopes to launch a project called "Clean Cars for All" for middle- and low-income groups to provide subsidies for consumers who replace old vehicles with electric vehicles.

It is understood that Bloomberg is a billionaire from the media industry and has previously served as mayor of New York. He has long been fighting greenhouse gas emissions and recently began serving as the United Nations Special Envoy for Climate Action. Other Democratic candidates have also included transportation in their climate plans. Bloomberg will release a complete set of climate plans and is the first candidate to release a specific strategy for the transportation industry, which is the largest source of greenhouse gases in the United States.

Bloomberg, a late entrant into the race, also proposed a plan to prevent wildfires aimed in part at winning over voters in California, the most populous U.S. state and one of 14 that will hold primaries on March 3, or Super Tuesday.

Like other candidates, Bloomberg hopes to reverse the policies of Republican President Donald Trump, who is rolling back environmental regulations while increasing fossil fuel production. But unlike other candidates, Bloomberg did not put a specific budget figure on his climate plan because of the complexity of the issue.
