On November 7, Nissan Motor said it plans to launch new energy vehicle models in China and plug-in hybrid vehicles in the United States.

The company also announced its latest goal: to shorten the car development cycle to 30 months, or two and a half years. At the same time, it will deepen its cooperation with Renault, Mitsubishi Motors and Honda Motors and explore the establishment of more strategic partnerships in the fields of technology and software services.

At the 7th CIIE held on November 5, Nissan announced that by fiscal 2026, Nissan plans to launch 8 new energy vehicle models specifically for the Chinese market, including 5 Nissan brand models.

According to previous reports by IT Home, in April this year, Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and Baidu Online Network Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. jointly signed a memorandum of understanding, and Nissan will equip its Chinese models with Baidu's AI solutions.

In June this year, Nissan announced the official closure of its passenger car plant in Changzhou, Jiangsu. A Nissan spokesperson said that the plant operated by Nissan and its partner in Changzhou, Dongfeng Motor, has stopped production. The plant mainly produces Qashqai SUVs, with an annual output of about 130,000 units. Nissan's total production in China is 1.6 million vehicles, of which the Changzhou plant accounts for 8% of its production.
