On June 19, the 11th International Intelligent Connected Vehicle Technology Conference (CICV 2024) is being held in Beijing.
At the meeting, Miao Changxing, a first-level inspector of the Equipment Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, pointed out that at present, the technology of intelligent connected vehicles is rapidly iterating, and assisted driving has been applied on a large scale. Technologies such as high-level autonomous driving and vehicle-road-cloud integration are in a critical period of transition from testing and verification to large-scale application.
He pointed out that my country's intelligent connected vehicles are generally at the same level as the world, and still face certain challenges in technological innovation, improvement of laws and regulations, cross-industry collaboration, ecosystem construction, and exploration of business models.
Ma Jindou, president of Huawei's wireless network product line in the field of connected vehicles, also stated today at the CICV 2024 Technology Week International Side Event that Huawei will launch new products in the second half of this year to address the shortcomings in vehicle-road-cloud-roadside and perception.
We found that a lot of shortcomings are in roadside and perception. We have made communication latency very low, but we now realize that the latency of our edge computing and platform computing in the perception part, including radar, camera, etc., is still very high. We now hope to contribute to this area, so that roadside information can be seen more clearly, calculated faster, and provided more comprehensive services. In this regard, we will launch new products in the second half of this year to help integrate vehicles, roads, and clouds and help our partners do a good job in this area.
On June 4 this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and the Ministry of Transport issued an announcement, announcing that they would carry out the pilot program for the access and road use of intelligent connected vehicles in an orderly manner.
In the next step, the four departments will promote the implementation of the pilot in an orderly manner in accordance with the overall requirements and work objectives of the pilot, accumulate management experience based on pilot evidence, support the formulation and revision of relevant laws, regulations and technical standards, accelerate the improvement of the intelligent connected vehicle production access and road traffic safety management system, and promote the high-quality development of my country's intelligent connected new energy vehicle industry.
The first batch of units to enter the intelligent connected vehicle access and road access pilot consortium include Changan Automobile, BYD, GAC, SAIC, BAIC Blue Valley, FAW, SAIC Hongyan, Yutong Bus, and NIO.
