June 7th news, according to a report by Nikkei today, due to violations in the "model designation" certification of Toyota, Mazda and other automakers and Yamaha engines, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan will conduct an independent inspection of 6 models produced by the above-mentioned companies next week to confirm whether the models involved meet safety and other standards.

It is reported that these models include Toyota's Corolla Fielder and Mazda's Roadster RF. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is expected to determine whether these models meet the standards in June and is expected to lift the suspension order.

June 3: Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism issued an announcement stating that in view of the continuous violations of Daihatsu Industries and other Japanese companies in the process of obtaining the model certification required for mass production of automobiles and engines, the department instructed a total of 85 automobile production companies to investigate whether there were similar situations. As of the end of May, Toyota Motor, Mazda, Yamaha Motor, Honda Motor and Suzuki had cheated in vehicle performance testing and other aspects, and these five companies will be investigated in accordance with the Road Transport Vehicle Law.

June 3: Toyota Motor announced that it conducted an investigation into its vehicle certification applications on January 26 this year, in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Although the investigation is still ongoing, the testing methods of seven models (including some models that have been discontinued since 2014) did not meet government standards, and the company reported this to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism on May 31.

June 3: Toyota, Honda, and Mazda executives held separate press conferences to apologize for the incident. Toyota Group President Akio Toyoda said at the press conference, "Falsification is a matter of principle that undermines the certification system and is something that automakers must never do. As the head of the Toyota Group, I sincerely apologize for this."

June 4: The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan conducted a surprise inspection of Toyota Motor's Aichi Prefecture headquarters in response to serious misconduct such as data falsification involving safety. The inspectors will question the person in charge of quality and analyze relevant documents to find out the ins and outs of the incident.

June 6: In response to the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's report on the falsification of test data, Toyota and Mazda of Japan suspended the production of a total of five models involved on that day.
