According to an official announcement from Yamaha, Yamaha has developed an artificial intelligence acoustic technology called Music:AI. According to official introduction, Yamaha is currently developing high-end amplifiers equipped with this technology, and plans to enter mass production in 2025 and sell it to automakers around the world.
In the announcement, Yamaha believes that with the development of technology, the interior space of the car has become the "second living room" for the public to enjoy audio and video entertainment, but this demand has caused new contradictions, because traditional tuning technology cannot make the sound effects of the interior space of the car advanced. Because there are many noise sources in the interior space of the car, such as nearby vehicles, horns, tire noise, etc., and the interior space of the car will also affect the sound effects due to the different reflection and sound absorption effects of various materials.
In this regard, Yamaha's Music:AI technology is developed based on the concepts of "for Cabin", "for Music" and "for Person". "for Cabin" means that the technology will optimize the sound effects according to the characteristics of the interior space of the car. Yamaha officials said that Music:AI technology can use artificial intelligence technology to quickly optimize the sound system of each cabin and automatically find the best tuning parameters. "for Music" means that the technology can automatically optimize the tuning parameters according to the characteristics of the song. Music:AI can listen to the music playing in the car in real time and automatically adjust the acoustic parameters. This technology can eliminate the driver's tuning needs and is more conducive to safe driving. "for Person" can automatically adjust the acoustic parameters to the user's preference through dialogue between the user and AI.
Yamaha has not been in the car audio market for too long, but its non-AI audio system has now been adopted by Toyota's 2023 Century SUV version.
