The display area of ​​Macroblock Technology is divided into two parts. The following will introduce the applications of the exterior and interior of the car body respectively.


Car body exterior display area :

The LED driver chips MBI1841Q and MBI1838Q launched by Macroblock are both suitable for vehicle sign light applications. They have a wide output current range and high withstand voltage, allowing designers to freely adjust the brightness. In addition, MBI1841Q includes different dimming controls and built-in control modes, allowing the car's logo lights to present diverse lighting effects, making the car's appearance more fashionable and beautiful, as well as complete LED protection functions and LED error reporting functions, thereby improving the safety of the car. .


Interactive LED matrix display / grill light ( front )


For the first time, Macroblock applies LED driver chip solutions: MBI5353Q, MBI5780Q and MBI5989Q to innovative interactive front-vehicle LED matrix displays. These chips offer the following advantages:


• Present high-quality visual effects with 16-bit grayscale and 8K refresh rate, making the matrix display clearer and more vivid.

• Supports real-time interaction, allowing the matrix display to display different messages and patterns according to vehicle status and environmental changes.


Therefore, this series of solutions is not only suitable for matrix displays, but also for grille lights, allowing headlights to interact safely with pedestrians and other vehicles.

LED headlights ( high beam / low beam / daytime running lights )


Macroblock Technology demonstrated a variety of driver chip solutions for LED headlights at CES 2024, including MBI6671Q, MBI6665Q, MBI6657Q and MBI6659Q. These chips offer the following advantages:


• MBI6671Q can be used for high beam and low beam, and with external MOSFET, it can improve efficiency and heat dissipation, and support high power output. It also supports a variety of circuit topologies, such as BOOST, BUCK, BUCK-BOOST and SEPIC, allowing designers to choose the appropriate solution according to different needs. In addition, the chip also has an LED error reporting function to ensure the safety of the car lights.


• MBI6665Q, MBI6657Q and MBI6659Q can be used for daytime running lights and provide simple circuit design, making the design more flexible. MBI6665Q also supports a variety of circuit topologies and LED error reporting functions, which can improve the reliability and safety of the system.

Adaptive Headlights (ADB)


The LED driver chip MBI6353Q displayed this time is suitable for adaptive headlight (ADB) applications, providing flexible, reliable and precise lighting solutions for vehicles. MBI6353Q can control an LED matrix of up to 192 pixels and has a wide output current range, making the headlights brighter and clearer. It uses hybrid dimming technology (PWM/PAM) to allow the headlights to perform well in low grayscale and provide excellent contrast. This adaptive headlight combines Macroblock's LED driver chip solution, Lextar Electronics' lighting system and Elan Electronics' ADAS system to allow the headlights to automatically adjust the lighting angle and brightness to avoid glare on other vehicles while improving lighting. visibility, ensuring safer and more comfortable driving conditions.

Through-type taillight / interactive LED matrix display ( rear )


In terms of car rear lighting applications, Macroblock Technology showcased innovative rear-car interactive LED matrix displays and through-type taillight applications.


MBI5353Q, MBI5780Q and MBI5989Q can be used in interactive LED matrix displays to present high-quality visual effects with up to 16-bit grayscale and 8K refresh rate, and support real-time interaction, such as: display of autonomous driving, traffic conditions, warning and reminder messages, Charging status, brake or turn signals, etc., allow the taillights to safely communicate with other vehicles.


MBI6353Q and MBI1841Q can be used for through-type taillights. MBI1841Q has a built-in control mode, allowing the taillights to achieve different dimming controls and lighting effects, such as gradient, marquee or flashing, etc., making the rear lighting more stylish and personalized, and improving Overall visibility and road safety.

Car body interior display area :

Smart cockpit vehicle display / steering wheel auxiliary display


Macroblock Technology cooperates with Jinyan Optoelectronics and Yinghua Technology to showcase a series of smart cockpit displays, providing regional dimming mini-LED backlight display systems with different numbers of zones to meet the latest market trends. LED driver chips such as MBI6353Q, MBI6329Q and MBI6306Q have flexible regional dimming functions, which can automatically adjust the brightness and contrast of different areas according to different playback content to improve display quality and performance. The three displays on display have regional dimming solutions of 90 zones, 384 zones and 576 zones respectively, which can be applied to different sizes and resolutions.


MBI6353Q uses hybrid dimming technology (PWM/PAM) to allow the display to perform excellently at low grayscale, providing high brightness and a wide output current range, suitable for various application scenarios. MBI6306Q can also be applied to glass substrates, further increasing the design options for cockpit displays.


In addition, this series of local dimming mini-LED backlight displays also allows the steering wheel auxiliary display to have higher brightness and contrast, making the display content clearer and not affected by sunlight or other light sources.

Micro-LED electronic side mirrors


Macroblock Technology launched for the first time the common cathode LED driver chip MBI5780Q dedicated to micro-LED displays, and also exhibited micro-LED electronic side rearview mirrors. In addition to having the advantages of anti-glare and daylight readability, it ensures that the display remains clear in bright outdoor environments. It can be seen that it is not affected by light. The MBI5780Q equipped with it has a common cathode LED design, which can save power, improve energy efficiency, reduce power consumption, and can provide high-contrast visual effects with up to 16-bit gray scale, which can improve the electronic side. The image quality and reliability of the mirrors allow drivers to observe the situation behind them more safely and improve driving safety.

Automotive Head-Up Display (HUD)


Macroblock Technology and Lingyang Technology collaborated to demonstrate an automotive head-up display system, using a regional dimming LED backlight driver chip - MBI6353Q to enhance the advantages of the head-up display, including high brightness and wide output current range, flexible dimming area, hybrid Dimming technology (PWM/PAM) and excellent low gray performance. The displayed head-up display has 384 dimming zones, which can create a more precise and localized dimming effect and provide a high-contrast picture with clear blacks and bright whites, ensuring that all displayed information is easy to read in any light condition. see.

Charging pile LED advertising screen


In addition, Macroblock Technology provides two types of LED display driver IC solutions, common anode and common cathode, such as MBI5264, MBI5253, MBI5754 and MBI5762, which are suitable for small-pitch commercial LED displays (P0.7~P2.0) for close viewing. ).
