According to news on January 9, at the CES  2024 exhibition that opened today, NVIDIA announced that Li Auto has selected the NVIDIA DRIVE Thor centralized vehicle computing platform for its next model.

NVIDIA also said that it has reached cooperation with Chinese automobile manufacturers GWM ( Great Wall Motors), ZEEKR ( Ji Krypton ) and Xiaomi . These manufacturers have adopted the NVIDIA DRIVE Orin platform to power their intelligent autonomous driving systems .

Wu Xinzhou, vice president of Nvidia’s automotive division (former head of autonomous driving at Xpeng Motors) said:

“The transportation industry is applying centralized computing to highly automated and driverless driving, and NVIDIA DRIVE Orin has become the AI computing platform of choice for today’s smart cars, as automakers continue to demand more advanced features and AI performance. , its next-generation product NVIDIA DRIVE Thor will continue to empower automakers’ future models.”

NVIDIA said that the NVIDIA DRIVE Thor super chip will provide advanced AI functions and is expected to provide up to 2000 TFLOP high-performance computing power to achieve intelligent driving with both functional safety and information security.

Li Auto currently uses two DRIVE Orin processors to power AD Max, the assisted driving system of its L series models, which can fuse and process sensor information in real time.

It can power active safety functions such as full-scene assisted driving, automatic parking and automatic emergency braking (AEB) on ADAS, and the new AD Max 3.0 upgrade transitions the system to an end-to-end algorithm based on AI large models. architecture.

Great Wall Motors also announced that it will build a self-developed high-end intelligent driving system, Coffee Pilot, based on the DRIVE Orin centralized computing platform, which will support parking, highway and NOA, and urban navigation assisted driving, enabling full-scenario intelligent navigation and assisted driving functions without the need for high-precision maps. .

In addition, Jikrypton Automobile’s four models, Xiaomi SU7, etc. all apply the NVIDIA DRIVE Orin platform and adopt dual DRIVE Orin system-level chips.
