Shanghai, China, June 21, 2023 - Tinychip Micro, China's leading high-performance dedicated SoC chip supplier, recently announced the launch of the TCPL01x series of ambient light driver chips, of which TCPL010 is the first 3mm*3mm package in China that supports LIN automatic addressing for automotive ambient light driver chips. This is another series of dedicated MCU product layouts of Tinychip Micro after the automotive signal chain MCU and automotive touch MCU chips. It also extends Tinychip Micro's automotive product layout from perception nodes to execution nodes. TCPL010 also fills the gap in the field of domestically produced small-package automotive ambient light chips that support LIN automatic addressing. It has important application and strategic significance in the field of domestic automotive chips.
With the younger car consumer population, the requirements for car intelligence and personalized interior and exterior decoration are getting higher and higher. As an important part of enhancing the personalization of the cockpit, car ambient lighting has become a point that major OEMs pay more and more attention to. In addition to the decoration of the interior atmosphere, ambient lighting is also developing towards practical functions such as information indication, music rhythm, emotion regulation, safety reminders, etc. Models equipped with ambient lighting are rapidly penetrating from mid-to-high-end models to mid-to-low-end models.
The application scenarios of ambient lights cover all parts of the cabin, including cabin surround ambient lights, instrument panel ambient lights, center console ambient lights, ceiling ambient lights, door trim ambient lights, door armrest ambient lights, door warning ambient lights, door open and close indicator ambient lights, front door inner pockets, lights on the armrest storage box, cup holder ambient lights, footrest lights, welcome pedals, welcome lights, etc.
TCPL01x is an innovative product independently developed by Taishiwei. It is optimized by combining the application of automotive ambient lights and the commonly used driving solutions on the market. It optimizes the cost as much as possible while meeting the performance requirements, and provides a cost-effective solution for the popularization of ambient light applications from mid-to-high-end models to mid-to-low-end models.

Main advantages of TCPL01X:
3mm*3mm package: The design of car interior requires thinness and lightness, and the space left for RGB driver board is continuously compressed. The small package device provided by TCPL010 can meet the stringent requirements on the size of the driver board, providing greater flexibility for the design of limited space inside the car.
Support automatic address allocation: TCPL01x supports the automatic allocation function of LIN node addresses. It can allocate addresses on site according to the installation position of the driver on the vehicle body, without the need for complex configuration and debugging processes. The model of the driver board can be simplified, which is convenient for production management and subsequent maintenance. Supports address allocation methods of 1 ohm inside the chip or 0.2 ohm in parallel outside
RGB color control algorithm: Taishiwei provides RGB color control algorithm, including basic RGB light mixing algorithm, dynamic temperature compensation algorithm, light decay characteristic fixed compensation algorithm, and supports third-party calibration tools. It can achieve colorful lighting effects. The atmosphere light inside the car can freely switch and adjust the color, brightness and dynamic effects according to the driver's preferences and needs, creating a unique and comfortable atmosphere in the car.
Low power consumption and high performance: TCPL010 adopts advanced low power consumption design, which can reduce energy consumption while maintaining high performance, extend the life of the car battery, and improve energy efficiency. This is of great significance to car manufacturers who pursue sustainable development and environmental protection.
