Recently, Ford Electric Horse ( parameter | inquiry ) will push a new round of OTA upgrade packages to Chinese users. The map functions frequently used by users have also continued to evolve. Baidu Map 5.0 is comprehensive in the four core aspects of architecture, engine, interface, and functions. The upgrade effectively improves the path planning calculation speed, achieves more accurate map positioning, streamlines the operation process, and optimizes the functional level.
This OTA over-the-air upgrade will be pushed out in batches starting from April 6. In addition to Baidu Map 5.0, 360° panoramic images, smart knobs, simulated sound and other functions will also be simultaneously optimized to bring Ford electric horse users in China More practical functions have been upgraded to continuously improve the level of intelligence and user experience.
A worry-free travel experience, Baidu Map 5.0 meets the needs of multiple scenarios
Baidu Map 5.0 will fully optimize the navigation experience to meet the needs of more driving scenarios. These include the new Familiar Road Mode, which is specially designed for navigation on familiar road sections. Compared with the daily navigation mode, it provides more streamlined guidance information and voice broadcasts. The familiar route mode displays the entire route by default, providing changes in traffic conditions throughout the journey and better route selection.
The long-distance scene function supports real-time online viewing of city, road, weather, service area and other information along the way during long-distance driving. Traffic prediction can provide prediction information of future traffic conditions on different road sections, helping users avoid congested road sections in advance. In addition, users can also add waypoints to the navigation for route planning.
In response to the pain point of difficulty in synchronizing itinerary information between mobile phones and cars, this Baidu map upgrade adds a last-mile walking navigation function. As long as the mobile phone and the car are connected online, when the destination is within 2 kilometers, the user can send the remaining route to the Baidu Maps or Ford Electric Horse App on the mobile phone through the car. With functions such as itinerary sharing, interconnection, and group travel, it can be synchronized in real time with one click for easy travel.
It is worth mentioning that the personalized voice package function can record the user's own voice or the voice of family members and friends as the vehicle navigation voice, and synchronize it to the Ford electric vehicle terminal through Baidu Maps on the mobile phone.
More practical functions are upgraded to continuously improve the level of intelligence and user experience.
Adhering to the "user-centered" concept, Ford Electric Horse always listens to user needs to further enhance the driving experience.
In addition to the Baidu map function upgrade, the iconic smart knob also adds new functions, allowing users to quickly adjust the temperature and air volume, and long press to turn off and adjust the screen. During daily parking, users can automatically display front and rear 360° panoramic images by switching between R and D gears. The simulated sound that is loved by Mustang fans has also been enhanced to optimize the user's driving experience and unlock more fun of driving.
Thanks to Ford's new generation of electronic and electrical architecture - FNV intelligent Internet full network architecture to build a neural network and decision-making center for the entire vehicle, the Ford Electric Horse can achieve global cloud upgrades of software and firmware. This OTA is still a non-intrusive upgrade. Through A/B partition backup, breakpoint resume and other technologies, users do not need to worry about network disconnection or process interruption. After the upgrade is successful, the car and machine will receive prompts simultaneously.
In June 2022, Ford Electric Horse launched the first vehicle OTA over-the-air upgrade to Chinese users, covering 73 experience optimizations such as assisted driving map upgrades and diversified car usage scenarios. On February 15, 2023, Ford Electric Horse launched the first OTA upgrade of this year for Chinese users. It upgraded the electric horse's interconnection module, enabled APP remote control of air conditioning and heating, and added the ability to reserve parking upgrades.
