And this month, NIO's smart electric flagship sedan ET7 received a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP (European Union New Car Safety Assessment Association), becoming NIO's first car after the ES8. First of all, the main driver's airbag in the steering wheel will have a "three inner tension straps" structure, which can control the deployment time and shape when the airbag pops up, ensuring that the airbag can indeed "catch" the driver's head without appearing "Counterattack" effect. This is a bit like the drawstring of a parachute, which ensures that the parachute can be fully opened without "wandering".

In addition, among the 7 airbags that are standard on the Weilai ET7, there is a distal middle airbag, which is rare in domestic medium and large cars. In fact, in addition to the collision between the human body and the vehicle, the front passenger and the driver in the car will also collide, causing serious injuries to the people inside. Therefore, the introduction of the middle airbag can well protect the impact between passengers. The remote airbag is mounted on the inside of the driver's seat backrest and is designed with two large-volume cavities in the head and chest to effectively absorb impact energy and provide support. In side collisions, it effectively reduces the contact damage between front-row occupants, reduces the contact damage between the occupants and interior parts such as the center console armrest, seats, door panels, etc., and protects the lateral curvature of the occupant's spine. Because of the distal middle airbag, the ET7 achieved an excellent score of 15.5 points in side collisions. The distal middle airbag not only has the function of internal anti-impact, but also can cooperate with the seat belt to restrain the posture of the front row occupants when the vehicle rolls over, thus avoiding secondary injuries to the body during the rollover.
