Sources say Tesla will provide Dolby Atmos support for its cars

According to BGR reports on November 24, Tesla’s upcoming software update should bring considerable upgrades to the audio systems of its cars. According to its sources, Tesla has been working with major record labels for several months to bring Dolby Atmos to Tesla vehicles. Once the software update rolls out, more than 1 million Tesla vehicles currently on the road will support Dolby Atmos, as will all new production vehicles.

Dolby Atmos is a 3D surround sound technology launched by Dolby Company. It was released on April 24, 2012. It breaks through the traditional concepts of 5.1 channel and 7.1 channel. It can combine movie content and present dynamic Sound effect; create a more realistic sound effect from far to near; add speakers on the ceiling to achieve sound field surround, show more sound details, and enhance the audience's viewing experience.

IT House learned that early last year, Lucid Motors was the first automaker to introduce Dolby Atmos into its Lucid Air sedan. This fall, Volvo and Mercedes-Benz revealed they would also be bringing Dolby Atmos to their cars. Volvo's EX90 SUV will support Dolby Atmos, while Mercedes-Benz is adding Dolby Atmos support to the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, Mercedes- Benz S-Class (Configuration EQESUV , EQS and EQSSUV electric vehicles offer Dolby Atmos support.
