Battery China learned that recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology published the 365th batch of "Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturing Enterprises and Product Announcements". According to statistics, a total of 152 companies have 361 models of new energy vehicle products, including pure electric products from 114 companies with 282 models, plug-in hybrid products from 20 companies with 47 models, and fuel cell products. A total of 32 models from 18 companies.

There are a total of 88 models of new energy passenger vehicles. From the perspective of supporting battery types, there are 35 lithium iron phosphate battery models, 46 ternary battery models, and 1 cobalt-free lithium-ion battery. The remaining models do not indicate the supporting battery types.

From the perspective of battery supporting companies for passenger car models, CATL supplies 22 models, Guoxuan Hi-Tech has 15 models, China Innovation Aviation has 10 models, Honeycomb Energy has 9 models, Fudi Battery has 8 models, Sunwoda has 5 models, and Yiwei Power has 2 models. models, 2 models from Funeng Technology, and 2 models from Shanghai Lanjun.

Specifically, this batch of new energy passenger vehicle models and power battery supporting information mainly have the following highlights:

1. High-performance models continue to develop, boosting the lead in ternary battery supporting equipment

In the past two years, due to the reduction of subsidies for new energy vehicles and the technological upgrading of leading battery companies, the performance disadvantages of lithium iron phosphate batteries have gradually been compensated, and the cost advantage has begun to become prominent, driving the proportion of installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate batteries to rise. In July last year, its installed capacity surpassed that of ternary batteries and successfully "counterattacked", and it continues to this day.

However, as many car companies gradually develop their efforts towards high-end models, the technological upgrading and application expansion of ternary batteries in high-end models have gradually gained the attention of more companies, which is also reflected in this batch of announcements. Among new energy passenger car models, there are 11 more models equipped with ternary battery than lithium iron phosphate models, accounting for over 50%.

Main models of brands including Aion, Jikrypton, Xpeng, Ideal, Nezha, Leapmotor, Avita, Mercedes-Benz, Buick and other brands are equipped with ternary batteries.

Among them, the Ideal L7, Jikrypton 001, Jikrypton 009, Avita 11, and Buick Electra E5 are supplied by CATL; GAC AIONV cooperates with Funeng Technology; Xpeng G9 is supplied by Sunwoda; Xpeng P7, Leapmotor C11 is supplied by China Innovation Aviation. In addition, Nezha S is equipped with CATL and Yiwei Power ternary batteries.

2. Honeycomb Energy cobalt-free lithium battery supporting Mechalong

After supporting the Great Wall Euler Lightning Cat, Haomao and Cherry Cat models, in this batch of announcements, Honeycomb Energy's cobalt-free lithium battery has added another supporting model - the Great Wall Salon Mecha Dragon.

The Salon brand is targeting the high-end new energy vehicle market with a price tag of over 400,000 yuan. In terms of power, the Mecha Dragon in this batch of announcements is equipped with a drive motor with a maximum power of 220kW. In terms of batteries, it is equipped with cobalt-free lithium batteries for the first time, bringing super power. Battery life performance.

According to Yang Hongxin, chairman and CEO of Honeycomb Energy, certain technological breakthroughs are necessary to achieve true "cobalt-free". "China is in urgent need of some original innovation. If it is to make traditional polycrystalline cobalt-free products, the patents belong to American companies. The cobalt-free products independently developed by Honeycomb Energy are single-crystal layered structure cobalt-free products."

The "large cobalt-free series" mainly includes layered cobalt-free material batteries developed and launched by Honeycomb Energy, as well as battery systems such as lithium iron phosphate and lithium manganese iron phosphate. Yang Hongxin predicts that in the future distribution of lithium battery products, the market share of "large cobalt-free" batteries will exceed 70%.

With the continuous increase of supporting vehicle models, it means that the pace of mass production and installation of Honeycomb Energy's layered cobalt-free material lithium batteries will accelerate, which will also consolidate its competitive advantage in the field of cobalt-free lithium batteries and drive the growth of its installed capacity. further improvement.

At present, Honeycomb Energy's cobalt-free lithium batteries have been designated by many domestic car companies, and are also simultaneously advancing supporting verification with international first-tier car companies. It is reported that Honeycomb Energy will also launch a second-generation layered cobalt-free material battery in 2023. The cost is expected to be close to that of lithium iron phosphate and the cruising range will reach 800km.

In addition, there are 3 battery-swapping passenger car models in this batch. Red Star Motors is involved in battery-swapping models. One of the battery-swapping models it applied for is provided by Funeng Technology with ternary batteries. Another foreign company, SK New Energy, supplies ternary batteries for two models of ZTE Motors' Tianye brand.
