The 2022 World Power Battery Conference was successfully held in Yibin, Sichuan. The conference was a world-class event that fully demonstrated the cutting-edge technology of power batteries and the latest achievements in green and low-carbon travel. It is the first time to hold such a high-level world-class power battery industry event not only in my country, but also in the world.
Nowadays, just search for keywords such as "electric", "battery", "industry chain", "hundreds of billions", and the strong "money" atmosphere and new energy momentum will open my eyes. It is conceivable what kind of important information the conference will gather. But what is unexpected is that the conference has become a conference for comparing misery!
For example, Zeng Qinghong, chairman of GAC, complained bitterly at the meeting that all the money was earned by battery manufacturers, and even joked that he was working for CATL. Then Wu Kai of CATL quickly stood up to refute: "We are struggling on the edge of profitability and it is very painful. You can imagine where the profits are going." Even Zeng Yuqun of CATL accidentally said something that was singled out by competitors to challenge and counterattack - Tianqi Lithium said that it did not believe that CATL's lithium recovery rate could reach 90%, saying that the laboratory might be able to do so.

The meeting was full of heated discussions, with one party sang and the other took the stage, and no one was willing to give in. Many giants explained and presented a lot of important information to everyone.
First of all, the price of raw materials for power batteries continues to rise, causing all parties to suffer. Currently, all new energy vehicle manufacturers except Tesla are losing money. No wonder Zeng Qinghong said that he was working for CATL. With the rapid development of the demand for new energy vehicles, the price of raw materials for power batteries has skyrocketed. Lithium iron phosphate sold for 20,000 or 30,000 a year or two ago. For example, it sold for 20,000 in August and September 2020, and 40,000 or 50,000 in January last year. Now it is 510,000, which is outrageous.
Secondly, electrification has entered a new stage. Only by breaking through the original bottleneck, developing new technologies, and creating new standards can we promote the healthy and harmonious development of electrification. For example, CATL admitted that in fact, although its electric market company has not lost money, it is basically struggling on the edge of a little profit, which is very painful. So you can imagine where the profit will go. I hope that everyone in the entire industry chain will work together to strive for the early arrival of our electrification.
Another issue is the recycling of lithium. For example, Brunp's subsidiary said: "Currently, our recycling rate of nickel, cobalt and manganese has reached 99.3%, and the recycling rate of lithium has reached more than 90%. By 2035, we can meet most of the market demand by recycling materials from retired batteries."
It also includes the interpretation of batteries from various manufacturers, fast-charging battery packs, intelligence, management systems combined with big data and cloud computing and other industry trend information. The conference was mainly held under the "dual carbon" goal. Against this background, in order to accelerate the sustainable and healthy development of the global power battery industry, the 2022 World Power Battery Conference came into being. It is also hoped that through this conference, China's new energy industry can develop steadily, and all levels will formulate norms and standards to benefit human development.
