On December 21, the 2021 Huawei Intelligent Automotive Solutions Ecosystem Forum was held online. As one of the important partners, MINIEYE, a developer of intelligent driving solutions, shared the latest results of the cooperation between the two parties at the meeting and announced for the first time the mass production solution of iPilot intelligent navigation assistance for L2+/L2++ scenarios. The solution is developed based on the Huawei MDC 610 platform and has been designated by two automotive customers, including new car manufacturers and traditional OEMs.
Equipped with a new energy coupe, mass production in the third quarter of next year
Huawei's intelligent driving computing platform MDC 610 has a computing power of 200 TOPS and features high performance, high security, high reliability, and high energy efficiency. It has perfect support for neural networks and can group computing power on demand to adapt to different tasks. Combined with the MDC platform's complete tool chain and fast-response service mechanism, partners can flexibly and quickly develop intelligent driving applications for different application scenarios.

In terms of sensor configuration, the iPilot solution uses a 7V5R2L combination, namely 7 cameras, 5 millimeter-wave radars and 2 laser radars, of which two 8-megapixel high-definition cameras are used in the front view direction, and the laser radar is 96 lines. Based on the industry-leading computing platform and sensor combination, the application scenarios of the iPilot solution cover structured roads such as highways and urban expressways, as well as urban roads, and support a variety of intelligent driving system functions such as AEB, ACC, TJA, ICA, HWP, etc. According to MINIEYE, one of the models targeted by the solution is a new energy coupe, and it will be SOP in the third quarter of next year.
Since its establishment, MINIEYE has always adhered to the progressive route, focusing on mass production and developing intelligent driving solutions at different levels. In the L0-L2 field, MINIEYE has obtained new car-making forces, FAW, Geely, SAIC, BYD, Jiangxi Isuzu, Dongfeng, Liuzhou Motor and other OEM customers, and the shipment volume is expected to reach 400,000 units in 2021.
Dr. Liu Guoqing, founder and CEO of MINIEYE, believes that due to the influence of new car manufacturers such as Tesla and the increase in market demand, L2+/L2++ intelligent driving functions will become the mainstream demand in the next 3-5 years, and this is also an important area for MINIEYE to deepen its efforts. According to Liu Guoqing, MINIEYE has currently obtained 4 L2+/L2++ mass production projects, including sedans, coupes, and SUVs, covering new energy and fuel vehicles.
Join hands with Huawei again to expand the domestic autonomous driving landscape with the ecosystem
As a leading domestic intelligent driving computing platform manufacturer, Huawei MDC has always been an important partner of MINIEYE. Huawei MDC adheres to the concept of platform + openness, and builds a good ecosystem with customers and upstream and downstream industry chains. The iPilot solution developed based on Huawei MDC 610 is the second cooperation between MINIEYE and Huawei after MDC 210.
In March this year, MINIEYE developed the L2+ solution based on the MDC 210 platform, which not only successfully obtained the project order from the new car-making forces, but also won the recognition of customers through its high-quality development and delivery capabilities. Liu Guoqing said that Huawei MDC has a rich product line and excellent performance, and is a leader in intelligent driving computing platforms. The two parties have in-depth cooperation and collaborative development, relying on the advantages of localization, customization and rapid response to jointly open up the market pattern.
The automotive industry is currently riding the wave of "software-defined cars", which is not only changing the electronic and electrical architecture of cars, but also reshaping the pattern of the automotive industry chain: from the original vertical structure to a mesh structure. The OEMs, Tier 1, and Tier 2 have changed from the original hierarchical structure to collaborative development and win-win cooperation.
Liu Guoqing believes that the industrialization of autonomous driving cannot be achieved without the joint efforts of the entire industry. MINIEYE has always maintained an open attitude and established a good win-win cooperation relationship with upstream and downstream of the industrial chain. In the future, MINIEYE will continue to focus on the technological innovation and practice of intelligent driving solutions, and work with more industry chain partners to power and empower the intelligent transformation of China's automotive industry.
