Two years ago, when Tesla fans were still arguing about whether millimeter wave was better than lidar, some domestic manufacturers with strong technical strength had already switched to lidar. However, when the second-generation lidar was ready to be released, Tesla was still using millimeter wave...

Recently, we learned from official channels that GAC Aion will be equipped with Robosense's second-generation laser radar, which can realize functions such as zoom, intelligent frequency conversion, and intelligent resolution control. Based on such powerful hardware, GAC Aion's ADIGO intelligent driving assistance system will have better ability to handle complex road conditions.

The essence of this system lies in the new two-dimensional MEMS smart chip, which can achieve 0.2~0.05° intelligent control resolution, 10~30Hz intelligent variable frequency refresh frame rate, 120° FOV field of view and 300 meters ultra-long-range detection, while its volume is only 45x110x108mm. Compared with the first-generation laser radar, the new radar can more accurately distinguish cones, uneven roads, etc., allowing vehicles to predict risks at ultra-long distances and slow down and change lanes in advance. For example, the current automatic assisted driving system is "afraid" of sudden lane cutting and "ghosting", which can be handled calmly.

It can be seen from the preview picture released by GAC Aion that the new laser radar will be placed on the roof, which is consistent with the NIO ET7. Compared with being placed on the front of the car, it can achieve a better scanning range.

It is reported that the new laser radar will be first installed on the Aion family’s flagship SUV model - AION LX. Let us look forward to it together.
