On May 27, Volkswagen launched the UX prototype, focusing on the innovation of the car's interior cockpit; on June 12, Lexus released the new generation NX, introducing the new Tazuna reins concept cockpit; on June 14, SAIC Passenger Vehicle and BOE Varitronix signed a strategic cooperation agreement, and will carry out comprehensive and in-depth cooperation in the field of smart cockpit display... Since the Shanghai Auto Show, automakers have been increasingly deploying smart cockpits, deploying smart cockpit technology upgrades from multiple dimensions, specifically involving three levels: implementing new smart cockpit functions in new products; creating a new smart cockpit system; and establishing cooperation with supporting companies to deploy smart cockpit technology research and development.
The product technology upgrades of major automobile brands all involve smart cockpits
Since the Shanghai Auto Show, the flagship new products released and launched by mainstream domestic and foreign companies have all made innovations in smart cockpit technology, involving areas such as display hardware, connectivity, and new human-computer interaction modes. Smart cockpit technology has become an important tool for automakers to enhance product competitiveness.
Voice interaction, connection, and security features are valued
The broad definition of smart cockpit functions covers many aspects such as safety and display hardware. In the current comparison of the equipment rates of various functions, the voice function has become the most important cockpit function for vehicle manufacturers with an equipment rate of over 50%. Among the other functions, the connection and navigation functions have also achieved an equipment rate of nearly 50%, reflecting the importance that companies attach to networking functions. The equipment rate of safety and display hardware functions is currently around 30%, and the current equipment rate of biometrics and entertainment functions is still not high, only around 10%. These functions with low equipment rates will be the focus of companies at this stage and in the future.
Luxury brands focus on safety-related functional equipment
Among the various functional areas of smart cockpits, safety-related functions are generally the focus of consumers, such as fatigue reminders and reversing images. At present, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi have obvious advantages in the implementation of safety-related functions, and their overall equipment level far exceeds the average level of 32.47%, reflecting their emphasis on safety functions. Among other companies, domestic brands also attach relatively high importance to safety functions.
Domestic brands have outstanding advantages in OTA and entertainment functions
Compared with luxury brands and joint venture brands, domestic brands have a higher level of OTA and entertainment function equipment. Among other companies, Mercedes-Benz and BMW also have a relatively high rate of OTA function equipment, but popular joint venture brands lag behind in these two functions, except Nissan.
