As the electrification process intensifies in today's automobile market, more and more performance cars have begun their own electrification journey. The traditional large-displacement V8 engine may become a product of history. For example, the upcoming AMG C63 will abandon the traditional V8 and use a combination of a four-cylinder engine and an electric motor.

But don't rush to regret. Mercedes-AMG will still produce V8 engines. For example, the V8 engine equipped with the new E-Performance hybrid system will have a maximum power of more than 804 horsepower, and the electric motor can provide a power output of up to 201 horsepower.

Mercedes-AMG Chief Technology Officer Jochen Hermann said that future electrified AMG models will use a lot of technology used by AMG in Formula 1 racing cars. The higher battery performance and power will be twice that of current traditional drive batteries. The performance of the future 73 series will also exceed the current GT 63 S.

Perhaps the AMG C63 is what we are most concerned about. After all, it is about to use a 4-cylinder engine that seems to be inconsistent with its price. However, this 4-cylinder engine is definitely not simple. The electric exhaust turbocharger from F1 is also used in the Project One supercar. The smaller turbine can bring greater boost efficiency.

In the future, these hybrid AMGs will also add a silent mode. In electric mode, the vehicle will maintain pure electric driving, with a maximum speed of 100km/h. In Sport mode, you can still hear the wonderful sound from the exhaust pipe.
