According to well-known analyst Mig Chi Kuo, Apple will work with Hyundai Motor to develop the first Apple car model, and mentioned that Apple's first car chassis may be based on Hyundai's E-GMP electric vehicle platform.
It is reported that the E-GMP platform was announced in December and can support up to dual motors, five-link rear suspension, integrated drive axle, and a range of more than 500 kilometers after a full charge. It supports high-speed charging and can be charged to 80% in 18 minutes. The wheelbase of the platform can be adjusted according to the positioning of the vehicle model, so that it can meet the research and development needs of different types of sedans/SUVs/CUVs/high-performance vehicles, and the acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h can be less than 3.5 seconds, and the maximum speed can reach 260 km/h.
In other words, the fastest speed of Apple Car should be within the range of "0-100km/h acceleration time can be less than 3.5 seconds and the maximum speed can reach 260km/h".
According to Guo Mingchi's prediction, Hyundai Mobis (one of the three main companies of Hyundai Motor Group) will be responsible for the design and production of certain "Apple Car" parts, and Hyundai Group's Kia will provide the US production line for Apple Cars. However, he believes that it may be difficult for Apple to launch the "Apple Car" in 2025 because the development time and supply chain management of automobiles are more complicated than electronic products.
