Recently, the National Standardization Administration of China issued four national standards for wireless charging of electric vehicles , which attracted wide attention in the industry. The four national standards issued this time include "Wireless Charging System for Electric Vehicles Part 1: General Requirements" (GB/T 38775.1), "Wireless Charging System for Electric Vehicles Part 2: Communication Protocol between On-board Charger and Charging Equipment" (GB/T 38775.2), "Wireless Charging System for Electric Vehicles Part 3: Special Requirements" (GB/T 38775.3), and "Wireless Charging System for Electric Vehicles Part 4: Electromagnetic Environment Limits and Test Methods" (GB/T 38775.4).

Electric Vehicles, Electric Cars

It is understood that the standard system plans 18 standards, which regulate the technical requirements, performance requirements, functional requirements, safety requirements, communication protocols, test requirements and test methods, interoperability requirements and test methods, construction acceptance, operation and maintenance of electric vehicle wireless charging systems in public and private application fields. In addition to the 4 national standards released this time, 4 more national standards are in the process of being compiled. In addition, there are 2 more electric vehicle wireless charging standards for the public sector that will be finalized within the year.

Electric Vehicles, Electric Cars

"Wireless charging does not require human operation. After the vehicle automatically parks, it can automatically start charging. This is in line with the future development direction of electric vehicles' autonomous driving and intelligent networking." It is understood that wireless charging of electric vehicles can realize functions such as APP remote operation, automatic switch charging, battery detection, foreign object inspection, automatic settlement, etc., and the wireless charging system is fully enclosed, without sparks and electric shock hazards, and can adapt to a variety of harsh environments and weather. At present, domestic companies engaged in wireless charging of electric vehicles include Huawei, ZTE New Energy , Zhonghui Chuangzhi and other technology companies and scientific research institutions. Mainstream car companies such as SAIC Roewe, BYD, and BAIC New Energy have also conducted research and development and testing on wireless charging systems for electric vehicles. However, there is currently no mass-produced model in the domestic market that supports wireless charging.

Electric Vehicles, Electric Cars

In addition, at this stage, wireless charging of electric vehicles still faces the problems of high cost and standard adaptation. It is reported that since the upstream and downstream industrial chains have not been opened up, the estimated price of 7.7kw private wireless charging is about 12,000 yuan. Even if wireless charging reaches the order of 1 million sets in the future, its cost is still about 30% higher than that of traditional charging piles. Regarding the electromagnetic radiation safety issues that consumers are concerned about, the standards issued this time stipulate the electromagnetic environment limits and test methods inside and outside electric vehicles when charging, and specifically list the corresponding electric field strength and magnetic induction intensity indicators under multiple frequency ranges. However, how will the superposition after installing 10 or 100 units be, there is no large-scale testing yet.
