3~5 series battery protection IC with self-test function S-8235A series
Equipped with a self-test (self-diagnosis) function to confirm that the voltage monitoring circuit is operating normally
Multiple batteries can be monitored simultaneously through cascade connection
Automotive quality: AEC-Q100 compliant / PPAP compliant
The S-8235A series is a secondary protection IC for lithium-ion secondary batteries for automotive BMS with built-in high-precision voltage detection circuit and delay circuit.
The S-8235A Series protects lithium-ion batteries from the most dangerous overcharge state . Even if the main monitoring system fails, the S-8235A Series can continue to monitor the battery.
1. With a self-test (self-diagnosis) function that can confirm that the voltage monitoring circuit is operating normally
By inputting a reset signal and a clock signal from the outside, the voltage monitoring circuit can be self-tested.
The self-test creates a simulated overcharge state, and the internal circuit can operate in the same way as the actual overcharge detection. Since the self-test result is output to the terminal as a detection signal, the operating status of the subsequent system can also be confirmed.
2. Multiple batteries can be monitored simultaneously through cascade connection.
The S-8235A series can monitor more than 6 lithium-ion secondary batteries connected in series by cascading. By inputting the reset signal and clock signal to the bottom S-8235A series, all cascaded S-8235A series can be self-tested.
3. Automotive quality: AEC-Q100 compliant / PPAP compliant
The S-8235A series complies with the AEC-Q100 standard for various reliability and quality evaluation tests stipulated by the Automotive Electronics Council (AEC), and can also handle PPAP (Production Part Approval Process). While ensuring the high quality and reliability of the product, customers can safely introduce it into various automotive applications.

105℃ Operating Temperature Voltage Monitoring IC with Cell Balancing Function S-19190 Series
Ideal for cell balancing and overcharge protection of EDLC (electric double layer capacitors)!
The S-19190 with single-section protection can protect multiple sections!
Automotive quality: AEC-Q100 compliant / PPAP compliant
The S-19190 series is an automotive EDLC protection IC that is ideal for cell balancing and overcharge protection of EDLCs (electric double layer capacitors).
The S-19190 series is equipped with a battery balancing function (controlling the voltage of multiple batteries to keep the same) and a function to detect overcharge. In the past, the number of battery cells that could be controlled by protection ICs was predetermined, and it was difficult to deal with the situation when one battery was less or more than one. This product is an IC that can protect a single cell, and it can handle all the cells by using multiple layers (multiple layers). Therefore, it can provide the best circuit structure for various applications.
In recent years, electric vehicles have been evolving, and the use of EDLCs has been increasing in the field of next-generation vehicles such as EVs and FCVs. For example, EDLCs are used when a large current is required for starting assistance from an idling stop state, when regenerative energy (kinetic energy caused by deceleration) is converted into electrical energy and stored during energy-saving braking, or when voltage drops are mitigated during emergency braking. Almost all devices use multiple EDLCs connected in series to achieve high voltage, but if the voltage of each battery is not balanced, it will cause degradation, and at this time, it is necessary to control the balance of the power of each battery. This product is an IC developed to enable the effective and safe use of EDLCs. The package adopts SOT-23-6 (2.8×2.9×1.3mm).
1. Best suited for EDLC (electric double layer capacitor) battery balancing and overcharge protection
The S-19190 is a voltage monitoring IC with a cell balancing function that has a built-in high-precision voltage detection circuit and a delay circuit. It is ideal for cell balancing and overcharge protection of EDLCs. In addition, the S-19190 has an operating temperature of up to 105°C and can be used in applications that require operation in harsh environments such as regenerative brakes.
2. Can handle a variety of sections!
By connecting the single-cell protection S-19190 to each battery cell, it can protect multiple battery cells and provide the best circuit structure for the customer's application.
3. Vehicle quality can work in harsh environments
The S-19190 series complies with the AEC-Q100 standard for various reliability and quality evaluation tests stipulated by the Automotive Electronics Council (AEC), and can also handle PPAP (Production Part Approval Process). While ensuring the high quality and reliability of the product, customers can safely introduce it into various automotive applications.
