Bosch launches new AGM battery to provide enough power for long-distance commercial vehicles

According to foreign media reports, today, modern commercial vehicles used for long-distance transportation are equipped with a large number of comfort functions to improve the working conditions of commercial vehicle drivers. In order to ensure that such functions have a reliable and sufficient power supply even when the commercial vehicle is stationary, Bosch has now added a particularly powerful TA AGM 12V battery to its commercial vehicle battery series. When the commercial vehicle is stationary, Bosch TA AGM can provide a reliable power supply for various electrical devices such as parking coolers, parking heaters, microwave ovens or TVs installed on the vehicle, thereby reducing failures and unnecessary downtime.

Suitable for start-stop system, comfort function

The new TA AGM truck battery is equipped with AGM technology and has been developed for demanding applications such as long-haul transport. AGM stands for Absorbent Glass Mat, which allows the acid to be completely absorbed by the micro-glass fiber separator, making the new battery leak-proof and maintenance-free. Due to its high vibration resistance, the battery can be installed on the back of a truck. With a depth of discharge of up to 80%, the TA AGM battery has a deep cycle resistance that is six times higher than that of conventional lead-acid batteries, which reduces the number of failures caused by cyclic loads. With a CCA value (the amount of current that a battery can deliver for 30 seconds at a certain low temperature before the voltage drops to the limit feed voltage) of 1200A and a capacity of 210 Ah, the battery reliably provides enough power for safe cold starts and all comfort functions. Thanks to the stable microcycles associated with the AGM technology, the battery is also suitable for functions such as start-stop systems, cruising or coasting, without the need for engine support.

With this powerful TA AGM battery, Bosch has supplemented its existing commercial vehicle battery range (including EFB batteries and conventional lead-acid batteries) with a new and reliable premium battery with OEM quality.
