According to foreign media reports, Danlaw, a connected car technology company, will showcase its latest V2X solution safety applications. Danlaw has partnered with Code 3, a supplier of emergency vehicle lighting and sound solutions, to develop a fully integrated V2X system for emergency vehicles and multi-purpose carriers. The two companies conducted a joint demonstration, with a V2X-equipped police car demonstrating the importance of seizing traffic signals in emergency situations.

Danlaw, in collaboration with Code 3, has designed the industry’s first emergency vehicle lighting module with a fully integrated V2X antenna. The antenna connects to Danlaw’s AutoLink onboard unit (OBU), which integrates with the Code 3 emergency vehicle system to provide first responders with 360-degree vehicle awareness and safety insights. Once the vehicle’s emergency lights and sirens are activated, the V2X system communicates with roadside equipment to request traffic light priority. This feature temporarily blocks other vehicles from the intersection so first responders can quickly pass through the intersection, where emergency vehicles may otherwise be stuck in traffic. The system is designed to improve road safety, reduce emergency response times, and save lives.

“We are excited to be working with Danlaw,” said Randy Brown, Vice President of Global Strategic Marketing at Code 3. “The demo vehicle uses Danlaw’s V2X technology to showcase the benefits of V2X using the new Code 3 matrix. Our combined technology improves emergency vehicle safety by enabling emergency vehicles to have priority at traffic signals.”
