Dataspeed's self-driving platform uses Ouster lidar

According to foreign media reports, Dataspeed Inc., a supplier of wire control systems and an integrator of autonomous vehicle solutions, announced that Dataspeed customers can use the Ouster lidar technology portfolio. Dataspeed provides companies and universities with a fully configured autonomous vehicle platform, and this cooperation builds on Dataspeed’s expertise in this area.

Ouster's multi-beam light flash lidar is low-cost, compact, reliable, and has excellent visual capabilities. A single lidar has a 360-degree field of view and a visible range of up to 120 meters in all directions. The OS1-64 outputs a dense and rich point cloud for improved object detection, path planning, and positioning. Uniquely structured radar data outputs for fully correlated 2D and 3D camera-like images improve machine learning algorithms and perception capabilities. Ouster's technology seamlessly combines with Dataspeed's internal technology and Autoware software portfolio to provide customers with a range of object detection and avoidance capabilities.
