The mathematical principle of multiplication operation realized by logarithmic circuit is: UO=EXP(INU11+INU12)=U11+U12

Figure 5.4-19 shows the block diagram and schematic diagram of a multiplier that satisfies the above equation.

The polarity of the input voltage of this type of multiplier is positive. If all transistors are replaced with PNP tubes, the allowed voltage will be negative. Therefore, it is called I quadrant or single quadrant multiplier.
