This article introduces the main features, block diagram and typical application diagram of the low-power star network transceiver AS3900.
The AS3900 from Aaustriamicrosystems is a low-power 27MHz FSK transceiver for battery-operated short-range devices (SRD) applications. With a data rate of up to 210kbps, the device can be configured as a transceiver, transmitter or receiver, and operates in the 27.12MHz ISM band. The output power can be adjusted to 0, +5, +10 dBm, and an OOK-based wake-up system is integrated. The operating voltage of the AS3900 is 2.2V-3.6V, the receiving power consumption is 3.8mA, the receiving sensitivity is -85dBm, the transmitting power consumption at 10dBm is 4.9mA, and the maximum shutdown current is 700nA. It is mainly used for short-range data exchange between devices, data transmission, home and industrial network control, and interactive remote controls.
AS3900Applications
The AS3900 is ideal for reliable low-power short-range data exchange, data transfer among devices in close proximity of human body (Body Area Networks), simple control networks (home, industry), and interactive remote controls. A typical application can be designed in combination with a microcontroller, an antenna and a few additional passive components.
