An electron tube is an electronic device that generates current conduction in an airtight closed container (usually a glass tube) and uses the effect of an electric field on the electron flow in a vacuum to obtain signal amplification or oscillation. It was used in electronic products such as televisions and radio amplifiers in the early days, and has been gradually replaced by transistors and integrated circuits in recent years. However, electron tubes are still used as audio power amplifiers in some high-fidelity audio equipment (Hong Kong people call the use of electron tube power amplifiers "boilers").
