Fiber optic transceiver is an Ethernet transmission media conversion unit that interchanges short-distance twisted pair electrical signals with long-distance optical signals. It is also called photoelectric converter in many places. The product is generally used in actual network environments where Ethernet cables cannot cover and optical fiber must be used to extend the transmission distance. It is usually positioned in the access layer of broadband metropolitan area networks. At the same time, it also plays a huge role in helping to connect the last kilometer of optical fiber lines to metropolitan area networks and outer networks.
