Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced the launch of the DG723, a monolithic dual-channel single-pull single-throw analog switch for switching analog and digital signals. The new device has the low switching noise performance required to improve signal integrity and system accuracy, has a compact surface mount package and low power consumption, and can use low voltages in the new generation of portable designs.
The operating voltage of DG723 is 1.8V~5.5V, which is suitable for terminal products such as low-voltage instruments, health care equipment, portable instruments, PDAs and modems, and can be used in combination with ADC, DAC, analog front-end gain control and signal path control circuits. Typical applications of the device include programmable gain control, active filtering, sampling and holding, audio/video and digital signal switching and routing, and replacing spring-type relays.
The DG723 is manufactured using advanced submicron CMOS technology, with a typical on-resistance as low as 2.5 Ω, a typical leakage current of 1pA, an open-circuit capacitance of 8pF, an on-capacitance of 19pF, and a charge injection of 1.8pC. The switch's RON at 5V is always maintained at 0.9Ω, reducing insertion distortion, while the device's low parasitic and charge characteristics help reduce switching noise. The device's typical bandwidth at –3dB is 366MHz.
DG723 includes two independent single-pull single-throw switches, switch 1 is a normally open switch and switch 2 is a normally closed switch.
The DG723 is available in lead-free, RoHS-compliant surface-mount TDFN-8 and MSOP-8 packages. Samples and production quantities are available now, with lead times of eight to ten weeks for larger orders.
