As shown in the figure, this is a deformed multivibrator with constant current charging and constant current discharging. The constant current source I1 is controlled by VT1. When VT1 is turned on, pin 3 is high, VT2 is turned on, and I1 charges C2 at a charging speed of Dv0/Dt=. When the voltage of C2 reaches the threshold level of 2/3VDD, 555 is reset, pin 3 is low, VT1 is cut off, I1=0, C2 is discharged through VT3, RP1, and D4. When it reaches the trigger level of 1/3VDD, 555 is set again, outputs a high level, and starts the second cycle of charging. The oscillation frequency of this circuit can reach 100KHZ.
