As business opportunities in wearable devices emerge, STMicroelectronics (ST) has added another boost to its layout, announcing today that its STM32 microcontroller has been adopted by the Pebble smart watch.
The Pebble smartwatch connects to iPhone and Android smartphones via Bluetooth, and notifies users of incoming calls, emails and text messages through silent vibrations. The Pebble smartwatch has a built-in microcontroller with excellent real-time performance and energy efficiency, which enables the watch to achieve a perfect balance between functionality and battery life, providing users with full customization functions, coupled with beautiful surface background downloads and practical network connection applications.
ST's STM32 microcontrollers are 32-bit architectures that measure just 4mm x 4mm, so the chip takes up very little circuit board area while providing excellent performance advantages and battery life.
