Today's smartphones can not only watch content, but also create content. With the development of multi-screen integration technology, users can share the content of their mobile phones to tablets, PCs and even TVs.

With the development of the communications industry, various multi-screen integration technologies are becoming more and more mature and widely used. They can be easily used on smartphones and tablets, but it is very difficult to apply them on the TV screen in the living room and form a habit of using them.

Recently, Samsung Electronics released the Galaxy S3 mobile phone, which is said to surpass the iPhone 4S. It has the Wi-Fi Direct (hereinafter referred to as "WFD") function - that is, without the need for any Wi-Fi hotspot, two Galaxy S3 phones can use Wi-Fi to transmit files, including audio, video and address books.

It is understood that mobile phones using WFD can replace the set-top box function of televisions, allowing entertainment programs that can be seen on mobile phones and tablets to be quickly transmitted to the TV screen. This means that currently popular video software such as iQiyi and Tudou can break free from the constraints of small screens and be seen directly on TV.

However, regarding the popularization of multi-screen integration technologies such as WFD, the author believes that it is easier for mobile phones than for televisions. First, it is necessary to cultivate user habits. It is relatively simple to popularize it in mobile phones. At present, the speed of updating and replacing domestic smartphones is very fast, so similar new technologies will soon be applied to most smartphones; secondly, the price of smartphones is falling rapidly. It is not surprising that a mobile phone that cost 3,000 yuan a year ago is now less than 1,000 yuan, so most users can afford it in a short time; thirdly, there is a group of consumers in China who like to keep chasing trends and constantly change smartphones to try new technologies. WFD technology is easier to popularize in smartphones and tablets than in televisions.

On the other hand, it is a bit difficult to popularize multi-screen integration technology in the living room TV. The first is the price factor. At present, the price of high-end flat-panel TVs is often tens of thousands of yuan, and the high price makes consumers less willing to replace them; secondly, the living room seems to be the "territory" of the elderly and children in the family, and they have no obvious desire to use new products; in addition, there are too many new concepts in the TV industry, and manufacturers may not use WFD technology as the main selling point. It is indeed difficult to popularize WFD technology on TV screens.

In summary, I believe that manufacturers like Samsung, Lenovo, TCL, etc., who are keen on promoting multi-screen integration technology, may wish to jointly use and promote similar technologies in newly built large hotels, so that these hotel customers can cultivate user habits in the hotel. When they need to replace their TVs, they will consider replacing color TVs that support new technologies for multi-screen integration.
