According to statistics, about 65% of users have no way to back up or recover data on their computers, and only 20% use simple backup methods such as burning CDs or using mobile hard drives. The remaining part is a small number of users who use professional backup software to back up data like servers.
So this kind of backup is: first, it takes a lot of effort and initial investment. Second, the effect is not good. It can only achieve backup, but cannot achieve disaster recovery of remote data. "Cloud storage" can solve some of the problems that individual users are currently facing with computer data loss. It is based on a networked method of centralized data management and backup. With the continuous updating of web2.0 technology and the increase in network, especially our personal Internet available bandwidth, we can use "cloud storage" to manage and monitor some important data in personal computers in a networked manner.
In this system, network access is achieved through "cloud storage". Whether in our company or on a business trip, we can access data in real time through the Internet or the company's internal private network. In addition, if data exists in our personal computers, it is all an isolated island of information. Through information storage, the important data of all personnel in the company can be managed in a unified manner.
I often hear leaders of R&D teams complain that a senior developer has left my unit, but he has a lot of unfinished work, or has already done work with a lot of important data that he is unwilling to hand over. Because his data is in a separate PC, he has to back it up personally or delete important data. This is a huge loss for both the company and the developer.
If we store all these important data in large-capacity equipment in the data center in the early stage and implement unified management, we can completely avoid such a situation.
There are also some applications. We have a case in which a large number of personnel in a research institute often travel on business. They are a design institute with a lot of important data. There have been many cases where designers lost their notebooks on business trips, and the important data in them were lost. If we have "cloud storage", all the data will be stored in the centralized storage, and only ordinary data will be stored in the personal notebooks. In this way, even if the mobile PC or computer is lost, the impact will be very small.
These are some of the functions of "cloud storage". In fact, it has more functions including massive capacity space management, arbitrary reading, we can access the stored data anywhere through the Internet, dynamic capacity expansion, unified management and automatic backup. We can perform full backup and incremental backup through backup methods. For some R&D personnel and some early design personnel, such as people who write plans, we often use different versions. Centralized backup of core and important data can be achieved through the software client.
