1. Introduction
When I wrote this idea, the heating had just started. In previous years, the heating at home was very good, and sometimes I even had to open the windows to let in heat. However, this year, despite paying the expensive heating fee, the house was still very cold, and there were obvious differences in the temperature of several rooms. It happened that I was quite busy during this period, and when I got home from work, the property management was also off work. My family always complained that the house was too cold, and I finally made an appointment with the property management staff. When they checked, the heating temperature was slightly higher. After the property management staff went back, the temperature in the room became lower again.

I just saw that the RSL10-COIN-GEVB is an ultra-low-power Bluetooth low-energy beacon with a battery that can work for more than 6 years.

If I can place a COIN in several rooms and record the room temperature, I can also monitor the heating situation at home and take care of my family when I am at work. If there is a problem with the heating, I can also use the temperature record to contact the property management service for improvement. How great would that be!

3. Functional description of each part

The RSL10 Temperature Sensor Beacon is an ultra-low power Bluetooth Low Energy beacon that can be used to wirelessly transmit a URL and ambient temperature data. This evaluation board features the N34TS108 temperature sensor and the RSL10, the industry's lowest power Bluetooth 5 radio SoC. Using the included coin cell battery, the device can last for more than 6 years by sending an advertising packet every 10 seconds. The beacon uses the Eddystone open beacon format. In addition, the device supports firmware over-the-air updates (FOTA). The URL and ambient temperature data embedded in the advertising packet can be read using the RSL10 Sensor Beacon app published on Google Play or other free beacon scanning applications such as BLE Scanner. The firmware is CMSIS-Pack compatible and can be easily configured using the visual CMSIS configuration wizard, eliminating the need for additional cables to update the code.

6. Project Summary

Also received the RSL10-SENSE-DB-GEVK (debug version). Comes with a CR2032 coin cell battery and a flexible NFC antenna. And a Segger J-Link LITE CortexM debugger connected to this header.

Cloud connectivity is supported by the RSL10 Sense and Control mobile app.

I should have had all the hardware resources to realize my idea. Looking for reasons outside of myself, I could say it was the pandemic, or that my work schedule was tight, or that the network was down for a while. Looking for reasons within myself, I still hadn’t arranged my work and study well.

There are some shortcomings in this regard. The program debugging of cloud connection has not been completed.
