Brief Analysis on the Advantages of Using Industrial Ethernet Technology on Highways

As industrial equipment becomes increasingly intelligent, Industrial Ethernet has emerged from the field of industrial communications with its networking functions and open features, becoming the mainstream trend in the industry. Industrial Ethernet uses switched Ethernet technology to provide an interactive mechanism for the coordination and cooperation between controllers, operation stations, and various workstations, and seamlessly integrates with the upper information network. Currently, industrial Ethernet has gradually taken a mainstream position in the monitoring layer network and is penetrating into the field device layer network. Punan Expressway is the second expressway in northern Fujian, with a total mileage of 245 kilometers and a total investment of RMB 9.8 billion. There are 99 large and medium-sized bridges and 24 tunnels along the entire line, which basically adopts a two-way four-lane design, and a six-lane design is adopted for some sections in Wuyishan. The starting point of the Pu'nan Expressway is located in Guanlu Township, Pucheng County, at the junction of Fujian and Zhejiang. It connects to the Huangqu Expressway in Zhejiang Province, and connects to the Nanping section of the Beijing-Fuzhou Expressway, which has been opened to traffic, in Yanping District, Nanping, connecting Wuyishan, Jianyang, and Jianou. Its construction further improves the traffic conditions in northern Fujian, optimizes the investment environment, drives the development and opening up of areas along the line, and further improves the transportation network of Fujian Province from east to west, making Nanping a better connection point for the interactive development of the West Coast Economic Zone of the Straits and the Yangtze River Delta, and an extension area radiating inland.

The entire highway has 18 tunnels and 231 monitoring transmission points. Each tunnel is mainly responsible for six parts: PLC lighting, PLC wind control, PLC lane indication, fire alarm, vehicle inspection device, and information board. A dual-fiber ring network is used from the tunnel to the tunnel entrance machine room, FDU equipment is used from the tunnel entrance machine room to the sub-center, and fiber optic transceivers are used from the tunnel entrance machine room to the toll station. FDU equipment or fiber optic transceivers are used from the toll station to the sub-center and service area. The trunk network is completed by 9 FDU devices. The above is the use of Omate 6000 equipment from the tunnel to the tunnel entrance machine room to transmit the Ethernet data collected in the tunnel to the fiber optic transceiver or FDU equipment.
