Installing current indicator on low-power household appliances
Low-power household appliances are widely used in households. The circuit suitable for such appliances as current indicator lights is shown in Figure 4-40 (a).
Here, E is a household appliance with a power of ≤10W. The light-emitting diode LED can be a gallium phosphide or gallium arsenide phosphide light-emitting diode, such as BT201A and LD771. The current flowing through the light-emitting diode is the forward current of the load E, and the negative current of the alternating current passes through the diode VD. In this way, the voltage applied to the household appliance E is a full-wave alternating voltage. The forward working current of the LED can be found in the manual and must meet the load power requirements. The forward working circuit of BT201A is 20mA; LD771 is 10mA. VD can be 1N4007, and the working current is 1A, which is sufficient to meet the needs. For light-emitting diodes, please refer to Appendix 44 of this book for selection. For rectifier diodes, please refer to Appendix 3 of this book. The circuit shown in Figure 4-40 (a) can be used for opening and closing indications of small-power regulated power supplies, corridor lights (3W, 5W cold light lamps), etc. The maximum load should not exceed 10W.
