Overview
The DS1990R Serial Number iButton® is a rugged, highly reliable data carrier used to provide electronic registration numbers for automatic identification systems. Data is transmitted serially using the 1-Wire® protocol, requiring only one data line and one return ground. Each DS1990R is factory laser engraved with a unique 64-bit registration number for absolute traceability. The rugged stainless steel iButton package is highly resistant to harsh environments such as dirt, moisture, and shock. The compact button-shaped form factor easily aligns itself with the read/write head, making manual handling of the DS1990R very easy. A variety of accessories make it easy to mount the DS1990R iButton on a variety of objects such as containers, pallets, and bags. The DS1990R is a fully compatible derivative of the DS1990A. The DS1990R is a better choice than the DS1990A for applications where a contact response pulse is critical.
