On April 22, the second stop of the China International Medical Electronics Technology Conference (CMET2011) was grandly held at the Shanghai International Convention Center. Wu Jun, technical director of the R&D department of Shanghai Likang Biomedical Holding Group, delivered a wonderful speech on the topic of "The development and application of electronic technology in the field of home medical devices". The following is an excerpt from the speech:
As the size of home medical devices gradually decreases, the development of electronic technology has also undergone a series of changes. First, the size of basic components such as sensors, MEMS, and optics is constantly shrinking, and the reliability is constantly improving; second, the development of high-performance, low-power integrated circuits. In the future, high-speed, large-capacity chips will be used in home medical devices, and the number of devices will be greatly reduced; third, the development of software technology. In the past, many medical instruments were relatively large in size because many functions were realized through hardware. With the development of software technologies such as embedded single-chip microcomputers, embedded systems, and operating systems, the functions that needed to be realized through hardware in the past can now be realized through software. The development of these software has also laid the foundation for the miniaturization of home medical devices.
Development trends and characteristics of home medical equipment:
1. Low power consumption, compact structure, convenient and easy to use;
Second, low cost and easy to popularize;
3. Large batch size, high accuracy, good consistency and high reliability.
Many manufacturers in China believe that home medical equipment has a bright future, so they rush into production, which eventually leads to a price war. However, medical electronic products have very high reliability requirements. If the product defect rate is high, it will threaten the life of users.
4. The side effects are getting smaller and smaller and the safety is getting higher and higher.
From the development of blood glucose meters, we can see that the amount of blood collected by early blood glucose meters is relatively large. With the development of technology, the amount of blood collected by blood glucose meters will become less and less, and in the future it will develop into non-invasive blood glucose measurement. There is an implantable blood glucose meter, which implants a chip into the body and can maintain its effectiveness for decades;
5. Networking, intelligence and terminalization.
In the future, home medical electronic devices will be as intelligent as current mobile phones. Health phones have already appeared, which are products that integrate networking, intelligence and terminalization.
6. The applications are widely distributed, the varieties are rich, and the popularity is growing rapidly.
There are two directions for the development of home medical electronic devices: one is the extension of human functions, and the other is to detect whether human functions are normal or not. In the future, temperature sensors can be installed on glasses frames to test human body temperature. Similar products have been shown at the Industrial Expo, which collect human brain waves through hats and control the movement of the sphere through human will. This will be a very useful device for people with disabilities.
7. Prevention is the priority, use should be continuous, and it should be closely integrated with daily necessities.
In the past, users did not use home medical devices frequently, but in the future, home medical devices will monitor human health at all times. For example, a blood pressure monitor can be worn on the wrist as part of a watch. It will continuously measure human blood pressure and send the human physiological index to the doctor through the network. At the Expo, there is a urine analyzer. This device is combined with a toilet. Every time you go to the toilet, the device will record the human physiological index. When you need to see a doctor, the data can be directly transmitted to the doctor.
