On November 20, Naxin Micro announced that it has joined hands with ChipSine to launch the NS800RT series of real-time control MCUs. With more efficient and powerful real-time control capabilities and rich peripherals, this series of MCUs enables engineers to achieve picosecond (one trillionth of a second) level PWM control in photovoltaic/energy storage inverters, uninterruptible power supplies, industrial automation, collaborative robots, new energy vehicles, large/small three-electric, air conditioning compressors and other systems, thereby significantly improving system operation accuracy and efficiency.
The first models of the NS800RT series of real-time control MCUs include NS800RT5039, NS800RT5049 and NS800RT3025, which use a single Arm Cortex-M7 core with a main frequency of 260MHz and 200MHz respectively, supporting branch prediction, DSP instruction set and FPU. The NS800RT series is also equipped with 256KB SRAM, 32KB cache (I-Cache, D-Cache) and up to 256KB of ultra-large tightly coupled memory (ITCM, DTCM), which significantly improves the core's comprehensive processing performance through faster read and write speeds. This series of devices meets the automotive AEC-Q100 certification standard, supports automotive ISO26262 ASIL B and industrial IEC61508 SIL2 functional safety, and has built-in AES-128/256 and TRNG algorithms to further enhance information security.
Integrated math acceleration core to significantly improve DSP performance
In addition to the Arm Cortex-M7 core, a major highlight of the NS800RT series is the integration of an additional hardware math acceleration core (eMath) that supports floating-point operations. Compared with the mathematical computing capabilities of the general Arm Cortex-M7, it has a significant improvement in computing power in digital signal processing operations such as trigonometric functions, square roots, exponentials, logarithms, Fourier transforms (FFTs), matrix operations, and FIR filtering.
Rich peripheral support to achieve ultra-high precision PWM control
The NS800RT series real-time control MCU integrates a wealth of peripherals, including 16 pairs of complementary/32 independent PWM outputs, of which 16 are high-precision HRPWM; 3 12-bit ADCs with a sampling rate of up to 5MSPS, INL and DNL as low as ±1.5LSB, and support up to 34 sampling channels; 2 12-bit DACs with a sampling rate of 1MSPS and INL as low as ±1.5LSB; 7 pairs (14) of high-speed analog comparators CMPSS with DAC and ramp generator; 3 differential input operational amplifiers (PGAs) with programmable gain; 8 Sigma-Delta filter module (SDFM) input channels; and two high-precision clocks with an accuracy of up to ±1% over the full temperature range.
With the support of a series of high-precision peripherals, the NS800RT series can achieve 100 picoseconds of high-precision PWM control, thereby supporting various needs for high-efficiency, high-segmentation, and high-control precision applications, and is more suitable for digital power and motor control systems based on SiC and GaN power devices.
