STMicroelectronics Launches New GUI Configurator to Make Designing with STM8 Microcontrollers Faster

STM8CubeMX supports all mainstream low-power automotive 8-bit microcontrollers of STMicroelectronics . The new free development tool helps designers choose a product from the STM8 product family that best suits their application needs. Designers can also develop applications directly on STMicroelectronics ' STM8 development board. First, configure this tool according to the configuration method of the microcontroller on the selected board, and then STM8CubeMX provides multiple graphical interface tools to help complete the basic configuration of the selected microcontroller. These configuration tools include a conflict automatic resolution pin configurator, a dynamic verification clock tree configurator, a power sequencer and a power consumption calculator. After the configuration is completed, the tool will generate a configuration report showing whether the designer's requirements have been met.

From IoT hardware and smart sensors to high-performance automotive microcontrollers and a variety of mass-market electronics, STM8 microcontrollers have a wide range of applications. The STM8 microcontroller family has more than 125 products, ranging from ultra-low power (STM8L) AEC-Q100 certified (STM8AF/AL) products to mainstream STM8S value, basic and enhanced series. STM8 microcontrollers are the most cost-effective solution to help designers meet the size and power requirements of application designs, with core processing performance up to 20MIPS/24MHz, built-in up to 128KB flash and 6KB RAM, peripheral interfaces including ADC, DAC, comparator, timer, LCD driver, DMA, AES encryption and digital interface and market-specific functions, for example, automotive microcontrollers provide LIN/CAN interfaces, and the number of package pins ranges from 20 to 80 pins.

The above is about the introduction of a new graphic user interface configuration in the single-chip microcontroller, which makes the STM8 microcontroller design a faster introduction.
