Recently, when working on an embedded file system, I used the following inittab file:

#/etc/inittab
::sysinit:/etc/init.d/rcS
::respawn:-/bin/sh
s3c2410_serial0::askfirst:-/bin/sh
::ctrlaltdel:/sbin/reboot
::shutdown:/bin/umount -a -r

The result is: /bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off
