The United States: It is not allowed to provide lithography machine maintenance services to Chinese manufacturers! ASML responded that the service is normal

On April 18, ASML publicly stated that it will continue to provide equipment maintenance services to mainland Chinese manufacturers.

Earlier, there were reports that the United States planned to put pressure on the Netherlands to try to prevent ASML from providing maintenance services for some equipment in China.

In the earnings call, ASML CEO Wennink responded that "there is currently nothing that prevents us from servicing equipment installed in mainland China."

Photolithography machines are key equipment for chip manufacturing, and mainland China is ASML's second largest market.

Therefore, this restriction may have a significant impact on China's wafer manufacturers, especially on the supply and maintenance of core components of lithography machines that are necessary to maintain the stable operation of production lines.

Previously, the outside world was concerned that the restricted lithography machines were mainly NXT:2000i and more advanced models, while the sales and maintenance of other unrestricted lithography models would not be affected.
