DigiKey, a leading global distributor of a broad range of commercial off-the-shelf technology components and automation products, announced today that it has added ISO 27001 certification to its robust data security program. With this certification, the company further solidifies its commitment and ability to securely and appropriately manage customer, supplier and partner information.
DigiKey has added ISO 27001 certification to its information security protocols.
ISO 27001 is the international industry standard for information security management systems. It assures customers, suppliers and employees that DigiKey is committed to ensuring information security in accordance with industry best practices.
“ISO 27001 certification completes our approach to information security as a risk management, cyber resilience and operational excellence tool,” said Ramesh Babu, DigiKey’s Chief Information Officer . “This approach helps DigiKey stay risk-aware and proactively identify and address weaknesses to address the challenges of cybercrime while protecting our customers, employees and partners.”
ISO 27001 certification is a foundational standard that will help DigiKey prepare for and obtain other certifications as needed, while demonstrating that the company's systems have been independently reviewed and found to meet the requirements of the standard.
In addition to ISO 27001 certification, DigiKey's information security system provides customers and suppliers with other powerful tools, such as multi-factor authentication (MFA), to protect accounts from fraud and unauthorized access.
